Kasia Dietz, my twitter buddy who lives in Paris is one very talented woman. Below is a guest blog from her and some photos of her latest personalized creation pour moi! I ordered my reversible bag sporting the Weekend In Paris logo with high expectations, but they were surpassed when I saw the final product. Love my new fab hand-painted rive gauche bag!
From Kasia: The world of bloggers is a diverse, engaging, and friendly one. Little did I know! Since arriving to Paris in August 2009, after several months trying to meet people the old-fashioned way, I gave up, joined twitter, continued blogging, and started reaching out to fellow expats through social media. In no time, my social network grew and I became surrounded with like-minded expats, each with a story to tell, and many with blogs in which to tell them. Some of these blogger friends don’t even live in Paris, yet their main objective is sharing their passion for the city of lights. One such blogger extraordinaire is Priscilla of Weekend In Paris, and many a weekend she has spent in Paris!
Priscilla and I met at a tweet-up in rive gauche, along with many a friendly blogger face. She was with her gal pals on one of their famous girls trips to Paris. Oh, the stories they could tell! I happened to be carrying a new reversible Paris bag I had just designed and immediately the rive gauche/rive droite debate began! (As did the orders!) Priscilla was eager to display her love for her most revered side of Paris, rive gauche, as much as I was pleased to display mine. Thankfully, rive droite and rive gauche girls DO get along! Priscilla also being a marketer with a strong design sensibility, asked me to create her logo on the pocket of the bag reversed. As a fan of custom designs and challenges, I was thrilled to take on the job.
What resulted? Chic rive gauche bags perfect for a weekend in Paris! On their next trip to the city of lights, or anywhere in the world for that matter, Priscilla and her gal pals will travel in style!
