Wine Wednesday

Gal Pal Christine drinking Champagne at La Tour d’Argent

On this Wine Wednesday we are drinking Champagne. The bubbles were created by my hero Dom Perignon and enjoyed by people all over the world to celebrate the best moments of their lives or just because it’s Wednesday and they are alive!  Try to sip some bubbly without smiling – you can’t do it!  It’s happiness in a bottle and unlike other forms of alcohol, one is never tempted to choke it down or do “shots” of it.  The glasses don’t lend themselves to those activities and somehow everyone treats champagne with respect, sipping it reverently making it a special occasion every time!

La Tour d’Argent’s own label Champagne

Champagne is not to be confused with its ugly step-sister Sparkling Wine and should never be mixed with anything we were told by a young sommelier in Paris.  To mix champagne with orange juice in France you are risking jail time!

La Tour D’Argent serves yummy bubbly under their own label.  Their Brut Grand Cru is appropriately dry and crisp and just sweet enough to wake up your palette for what comes next – an amazing meal.

Today is a great day for Champagne, tomorrow is too! Wine Wednesday is just a good excuse to bring more bubbles into our lives.
